Overview


One of North America’s signature sparkling beverage brands is looking for a talented, dynamic, Operations leader to help drive its high double digits growth aspirations.  With on-site leadership and accountability for the rapidly expanding Marchand, Manitoba bottling plant, this driven operations leader will bring a can-do attitude to everything they do.  The Director of Operations will also ensure all co-manufacturing sites are performing to company standards, and will require 10% travel within Canada. 
 


Core Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for Safety, Quality, Cost and Customer Service
  • Develops and maintains production reports; utilizing KPIs to measure progress
  • Responsible for improving efficiencies and maximizing plant productivity / profitability
  • Meets performance goals, targets, and sets standards for the operating team
  • Ensure all areas of the plant are working together to improve processes and eliminate waste
  • Promotes continuous improvement as a “way of working”
  • Owns execution of the site Health & Safety including communication, training, enforcement, inspection, incident investigation and improvement plans
  • Maintain accurate records of all Health & Safety related items, including incident reports, inspection reports, training sign off and employee communication
  • Responsible for delivering operations CAPEX projects on time and on budget
  • Produces and aligns with the business on an annual CAPEX plan that delivers the business goals
  • Conducts long range planning exercises to identify future capital requirements
  • Supports the corporate innovation plans
  • Ensure all product made by co-manufacturing partners meets company standards

Job Requirements:

  • Formal education (Engineering degree preferred) or 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years at the supervisory or management level.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing business preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on big picture objectives while delivering day to day results
  • Experience in implementing programs to enhance service, improve efficiency, and reduce costs
  • Lean manufacturing education and experience required
  • Experience building highly functional capable teams, and mentoring and developing direct reports
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to organize and prioritize and work with minimal supervision or direction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Mentors direct reports and is skilled at team building and motivation
  • Understands financial tools and reporting
  • Project management
  • Lean Manufacturing background and designation preferred
