National Sales Director:
 
Pelican Brewing Company is expanding rapidly and is currently seeking a National Sales Director to lead a team of sales professionals. Pelican Brewing Company is a performance driven company where the ability to create relationships with clients is as important as getting that first sale! 
 
Based in Portland, Oregon the National Sales Director position is responsible for working cooperatively with executive management and ownership to create a comprehensive sales plan and strategy to meet Pelican’s growth objectives.  The National Sales Director is responsible for executing the strategic plan, assuring achievement of sales goals and implementing marketing programs by coordinating sales and marketing activities with the sales team. This position is also responsible for managing existing distributors and growing the distributor network and retail distribution to meet company financial objectives. The position requires strong sales skills and interpersonal management and leadership skills as well as entrepreneurial thinking to identify and create growth opportunities.

Founded in 1996, Pelican Brewing Company has won over 300 medals as one of the world’s most decorated breweries including multiple Brewery of the Year awards at both the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup.  Pelican’s flagship brand, Kiwanda Cream Ale was recently recognized as one of the Top 100 Beers in the World by Men’s Journal and our brewpub in Pacific City, Oregon is a favorite spot for travelers on the scenic Oregon Coast and was recently named one of the Top 8 Beachside locations in the World by Conde’ Nast Traveler. An Oregon Coast based company, Pelican Brewing Company operates a production brewery and tap room in Tillamook, Oregon, an ocean-front brewpub in Pacific City, Oregon and will open an additional brewpub in Cannon Beach, Oregon in the Spring of 2016.  The Tillamook production brewery opened in fall of 2013 and will produce 13,000 barrels of beer in 2015 with projections to increase to 21,000 in 2016 and continue an aggressive growth curve into 2017 and beyond.  Pelican draft and packaged beer is currently distributed in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Northern California, Nevada, Hawaii and Utah. Basic Job Responsibilities include; Brand Development, Strategic Planning, Leadership of Sales Personnel, working with & managing Distributors & ensuring key accounts are receiving the services that they require. 
 
Position requires the following; 
  • Bachelors or higher in Business Administration or 8 years working in Consumer Packaged Goods/Beverage Industry
  • Strong presentation skills with experience at presenting to various size groups
  • Computer skills for communication, financial reports and market research
  • Proven Leadership skills 
  • An ability to focus on the Communication Skills required at every step of the process for this position
