Enticing the Beer Traveler

With the influx of people traveling specifically to visit breweries and great beer bars, one day beer travel may catch up to winery tourism. If you’re not doing it already, you may want to think about how to entice the beer traveler.

  • Sell travel bags in your tasting room that will fit your 650ml/750ml bottles. Bags such as Wine Skins or Jet Bags are padded, absorbent and reusable.
  • Sell your merchandise (t-shirts, glassware, bottle openers, stickers, tin tackers) in the tasting room/brewery. Or if it’s only available online, allow pick-up at the brewery.
  • If you have the capacity, host tours of your brewery.
  • Offer a bottle shipping service to their home address, if your/their local laws allow.
  • Get added to a brewery bus tour – locals will like this too when they need a designated driver.

When beer travelers have positive experiences, they are shared amongst friends, forums, blogs etc. and by offering some of the above, you may stand out from other breweries.
