Job Description:

This Senior Manager role reports into a Consumer Planning Director and has responsibility for critical brands in Diageo’s portfolio. 
Purpose of Role 
To significantly grow the volume and value Market Share of Diageo NA’s Brands through sustained penetration growth, by championing consumer insight and understanding and applying that understanding to unlock growth. Multicultural consumers are disproportionately important to many of our Brands.
Top Accountabilities 
Function as a key partner to Brand Directors helping set the long-term strategic direction for our Brands and ensuring that these Brands maximize their growth potential in NA.
Provide strategic thought leadership for our brands ensuring we are ahead of the competition in taking advantage of consumer trends and opportunities.
Focus on strong, data-driven consumer solutions, embracing leading-edge ways of reaching consumers.
See strategy through to implementation and execution with flair and sound consumer-based judgement.
Further the presence and influence of Consumer Planning in Diageo NA by strong strategic contribution, adding drive to Brand growth plans, and pushing our ambition, scale and incisiveness in all Brand plans.

Job Requirements:

Substantial experience working as a Planner or Insight Professional, including in either a leading consumer goods company, a creative agency or a consumer research consultancy.
Skills & Knowledge:
A master of consumer understanding, insight development and consumer research methodologies with a proven track record of leveraging consumer and shopper insights into successful activity.
Analytical rigor and a challenging outlook on all new information.
Expertise with modern, up-to-date theories of Brand growth and decline, and an interest in how these are evolving.
Ability to inspire and influence a team of senior and experienced planning directors.
Experience of working with local Brands and local markets. Brings an understanding of their businesses.
Able to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent facilitation skills – able to lead a team to unlock creative solutions to consumer issues.
Ability to manage complexity. Distils and simplifies consumer and market knowledge from multiple sources into relevant priorities and then into clear, actionable implications.
Tenacious, has the courage and willingness to take a stand behind what is right for the Brand.
Passionate and curious about consumers – exhibit a constant thirst for discovering consumer insights and ability to communicate the insight and its importance to the business. Able to inspire others to be passionate about consumers.
Loves comms and creative ideas and work.  Cares deeply about what consumers see from our Brands and how that lands with them.
Passionate about selling.
Seeks simplicity and commonality ensuring that Brand strategies are applied widely and effectively.
