Job Description:

THE GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION  for this position is to offer support to the brewer(s) in most areas of the brewing process, getting equipment ready for brewing the beer, preparing ingredients for the brew, helping to move hoses & equipment during the brew, clean-up after the brew, and packaging the beer for distribution in cans or kegs. Job Requirements:

DUTIES CAN INCLUDE:
  • Weighing and mixing ingredients, keeping records of ingredients
  • Monitoring temperatures & quality of beer
  • Washing and Cleaning all brewing containers & vessels from top to bottom, inside and out
  • Sanitizing equipment
  • Labeling and packaging of product
  • Cleaning, maintenance & minor repair of valves, clamps, pumps, calandria, etc – under brewer’s direction Cleaning of all work areas, scrubbing floors, tanks, etc
  • Safety, Safety, Safety – in all areas of the facility, proper knowledge & use of sanitizers/chemicals/etc
  • Adhere to safety policies, Personal Safety Equipment requirements and attend safety meetings.
  • Work schedule flexibility, including days, some nights and/or occasional weekends as production dictates
  • Forklift use at Production brewery for loading & unloading incoming ingredients or outgoing packaged beer, or moving product around inside the facility.  Forklift experience helpful.  On-Site certification available
  • Ability & willingness to take on new duties, tasks and projects as assigned
  • Willingness to attend various beer functions/tastings/festivals around the state as Company requests to help with set up, beer readiness, manning booths, representing Prescott Brewing Company in an outgoing and fun way, tearing down PBC booth, loading everything up and returning to the brewery.
  • Experience in a production brewery a major plus, but will train.
  • Must have good math skills for measuring ingredients and the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.  Using all forms of numbers including fractions and decimals
  • PERSONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Great communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and think on your feet at a fast pace
  • Ability to remain aware and conscious of your surroundings at all times
  • Recognize the importance of details, from the largest to the smallest
  • Must be able to take initiative on your own, once trained and mastered the details
  • Must recognize that brewing is serious business & can be dangerous business
  • Must have good all-around mechanical abilities.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be reasonably fit and agile with ability to lift and move a minimum of 75 pounds and move around up to 165 lbs
  • Extensive bending, reaching, twisting, lifting, crawling, crouching, stair-climbing, etc.
  • This job requires physical movement at a fast pace throughout as much as an 8-10 hour shift
  • Must be able to tolerate wet, humid, loud, hot and/or cold, & tight space environments
  • Must have good dexterity, use of arms & legs, good hearing & eyesight
