Job Description:

Exciting opportunity for a Director of Brewing Operations to be based in New York City. Our client is India’s leading Craft Beer brand, and the country’s first craft beer company funded by leading venture capital firm from Silicon Valley.

This is a unique opportunity to build and participate in the creation of the emerging craft beer scene in India as well as to help develop the growth of the company.

This role is based out of New York and employed under their US Company. The successful candidate will spend 2-3 months at a time in India (6-8 months in total) of his/her time traveling to India and other locations.

The main duties are:
  • New Recipe Development (including specialty/experimental beers)
  • Leading and managing brewing and production teams in multiple packaging breweries
  • Managing Contract production in multiple breweries
  • Streamlining systems and processes
  • Training and Development of brewing team in India
  • Documentation of best practices and SOPs
  • Managing quality and batch productions as per requirement through production team
  • Providing technical input for upcoming company Greenfield brewery projects
  • Build relationships with suppliers and vendors to be able to procure raw material and supplies
  • Attend international conferences to be able to network and build relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Drive consumer activations in key markets in India and US

Job Requirements:

Additional experience required:
  • Has won awards for the recipes developed by him/her (please include details on your resume or cover letter)
  • Experience managing 40-50,000 hl brewery operation
  • Help with brewery alignment/ business development
  • Open to travel for 50% of the time
  • Excellent English speaking skills
Skills & Attitude:
  • You are a passionate, committed, technically stellar, experimental and unorthodox brewer who is adventurous and not afraid of a challenge
  • 10 years' brewing experience; some experience in a large craft brewery is an asset
  • North American or European experience is preferred due to the high quality and standards (the leadership team has significant American experience)
